ZEISS Outdoor becomes VALYRA: A new company behind the optics brand
Since 1 October 2026, ZEISS’s outdoor business has been operated by the independent company VALYRA GmbH in Aalen. Products and services remain available worldwide under the ZEISS brand.

The new company
The change follows a transaction agreed between ZEISS and palero in February. According to the company, the existing management team and employees are moving to the independent business. Stefan Hämmerle is its managing director. New infrastructure has been established at the Aalen headquarters and international sales and service locations. Additional positions have been created in areas including product management, marketing, IT and administration.
The ZEISS brand and precision optics
The ZEISS name will remain on the products under a long-term brand licence. Sales and service are also intended to continue within the new structure.
For precision shooters, the LRP family is a familiar part of the ZEISS range. The LRP S3, for example, is listed in 4–25×50 and 6–36×56 versions, both with a first focal plane reticle, illuminated aiming marks, side parallax adjustment and an elevation return stop.
