What are Target Rifle, Fullbore and Palma?
Target Rifle is a traditional form of fullbore target shooting. In this context, competitors use iron sights. Slings and shooting clothing may provide support within the rules. Long-range sport therefore does not necessarily require a telescopic sight. The Canadian association describes Target Rifle distances from 300 m / 328.1 yrd to 900 m / 984.3 yrd; the yard figures are rounded.

Fullbore is a broader international term for this area of the sport. Palma refers to a particular tradition or competition format and also appears in team competitions. The terms overlap, but do not mean exactly the same thing everywhere.
Compared with F-Class or PRS, differences include sights, permitted support and scoring. Event programmes may also include several classes or combined classifications. A result should therefore always be identified by its actual discipline. The heading “Long Range” alone does not explain the sporting task involved.
